Payments and Shipping
Q: What payment types do you accept?
A: Credit cards and Paypal are accepted. Credit card payments are processed by Stripe
Q: What about Venmo?
A: Nope. No Venmo. Venmo can only be managed via a mobile app. That’s a non-starter for me. Sorry. Yep, I’m a dinosaur.
Q: Do you ship internationally from the U.S.
A: No. Not right now. Navigating international shipping and VAT and the such all the while with the uncertainty of the trump tax/tantrum of the day makes it all too difficult.
Q: Do you offer free shipping
A: Yes. All items from the shop have free shipping. USPS Ground Advantage is the method chosen.
Refunds and Exchanges
Q: I ordered the wrong size belt/wristband. Can I exchange it or get a refund?
A: Sorry but no. I don’t offer exchanges or refunds if you did not get the size right. Read the sizing guide before ordering and contact me if you have questions. All that said.. contact me if the belt / wristband doesn’t fit.
Q: I got a different item from what I ordered.
A: That would be my bad. Contact me and I’ll make it right.
The Art
Q: What is marbling?
A: Marbling is the process of transferring ink/dye patterns from water, oil, shaving creme to things like paper or leather. See the Marbling page for more information.
Q: Do you use a sewing machine to do the stitching?
A: Nope. Hand stitching only using the saddler stitch and the skill I’ve developed. It’s much slower and more tedious but produces much more elegant results if done properly.
Belts and Wristbands and Bookmarks
Q: How do I choose the proper size belt / wristband?
A: Read the belt and wristband sizing guide to learn how to properly size yourself. It is important to get sizing right. I don’t accept returns/refunds for improperly sized belts and wristbands.
Q: Can I order a custom belt?
A: Yes! Information can be found at the custom belt page
Q: You don’t have my belt size. Can you make one for me?
A: There are a couple options here. You can order a custom belt and I’ll get right to it or you can send me a note and I’ll likely get to it when I can.
Q: Can I order a custom wristband?
A: No. But if you want a solid color wristband in a particular color or a wristband in a size that is not offered, send me a note and I’ll try to get it done.
Q: Can I buy individual bookmarks rather than a group?
A: No. Sorry. Because each item is unique due to the marbling, it’s really too much to track each bookmark. They are also surprisingly difficult to make due the the very thin leather. They are intended for retailers, but are available in lots of 5 and 10 and possibly more.
Leather Care
Q: Are the belts and wristbands waterproof?
A: No! They are treated with a water resistant top coat, but leather is a natural material and if you immerse your belt or wristband or bookmark, they will get waterlogged. If that does happen, lay it out flat in a dry place for a couple of days and it will probably be okay. Stiff, but okay. Don’t go and dry it with a hair dryer or put it in the oven. Just let it dry on its own.
Q: The edge of my belt is getting frayed looking around the buckle and keeper. Can I fix this?
A: Yes. Leather is quite resilient. Take slightly damp sponge and rub the affected area to moisten it. Then use a burnishing stick or even some clean canvas and briskly rub the area. It will slick back up. A guide for this will be coming soon.
Retailers
Q: I’m a retailer and would like to resell your products. Can you offer wholesale rates?
A: Yes! I offer wholesale rates for wristbands and bookmarks. Contact me for more information
